VILLAGE DESERVES TENTES
You dance. You shop. You load up on good eats. If you’ve planned ahead, your next step is a shaded pause under your pitched tent in our village des tentes. It’s the perfect meeting place, the ultimate hub for your festival crew. The real ones know there’s no better way to do it. Located just at the periphery of festival grounds, where you can still hear the zydeco and smell the jambalaya, the village blends rest with your fest.
SYMPOSIUM
Dive into the “why” of our festival at our symposium, where our artists, educators, and community leaders meet at the crossroads of tradition and innovation.
This year we go deeper than ever, with the help of Smithsonian. We’ll be examining South Louisiana’s cultural history alongside Smithsonian’s Folklife work, within the wider context of the nation’s 250th anniversary. This year’s festival theme, “Revolution and Evolution: Celebrating 250 Years of Cultural Fusion on the Bayou,” promises a rich examination of French Louisiana today.
